Beckenham Improvements work update 19th February 2018
Completed and soon to be completed works:
- Between the Yee Olde George Inn and Lidl, paving is complete and most of the parking bays have been reopened. Final drainage work has been completed as has the exit from Ye Olde George Inn.
- Works are now being restricted to the northern side of the street.
Phase 4 works 116 to 164 High Street.
- All kerbing has been laid up to Nero’s coffee shop.
- Foundations for the parking bays will be completed and concrete pouring will commence this week.
- In addition to new kerbs and paving, this section of work will require substantial new drainage due to the history of flooding in the area and the construction of an improved bus stop with a shelter and passenger waiting space. (At present the current bus stop comprises a bus stop sign only; with passenger waiting space restricted to a narrow footpath without seating).
- During construction works, space is limited at the new bus stop location outside Miso and Allure. We are doing everything that we can to alleviate the problem as soon as we can.
- During Phase 4 Conway may be working at several points along this section to ensure the works are completed as soon as possible.
- During the works the bus stop will be temporarily relocated. Transport for London will be advising the Council on their preferred location.
