Beckenham arguably has the strongest London links to David Bowie. This is where his career really started with gigs at what was The Three Tuns pub, now Zizzi’s, and at the legendary free concert at the Bandstand in Croydon Road Recreation Ground in 1969. Tributes have been laid at both places.
