So much has been said about the death of David Bowie that it is superfluous to add anything more here.
Beckenham arguably has the strongest London links to David Bowie. This is where his career really started with gigs at what was The Three Tuns pub, now Zizzi’s, and at the legendary free concert at the Bandstand in Croydon Road Recreation Ground in 1969. Tributes have been laid at both places.
There are discussions about permanent memorials to Bowie in Beckenham.
